9:6-8.18 Division of Child Protection and Permanency, actions upon receipt of report. 3. The Division of Child Protection and Permanency, shall upon receipt of such report, take action to insure the safety of the child under section 4 of P.L.1971, c.437 (C.9:6-8.11). The report shall be deemed an oral complaint under section 12 of P.L.1951, c.138 (C.30:4C-12), and the Division of Child Protection and Permanency, shall investigate the circumstances under which the child was injured and may, after such investigation has been completed, apply for a court order placing the child under its care and supervision, pursuant to section 12 of P.L.1951, c.138 (C.30:4C-12).
