54:5-40. Liens certified to officer selling land When the officer charged with the duty of selling lands for municipal liens shall not have custody of the records of all municipal liens, the municipal officers having custody of any such liens shall on the demand of the selling official certify to him all such liens as are required by this article to be included in the list provided for in section 54:5-21 of this title. After sale, the selling officer shall make an appropriate report to every other officer who had made any such certificate. The governing body of the municipality may make such regulations respecting these certificates and reports and the allowance of proper credits to the officers concerned as may be necessary.
