53:1-11.1. Establishment; supervision; duties of superintendent There is hereby established in the Division of State Police a Highway Traffic Patrol Bureau, under the supervision of the superintendent, which shall be charged primarily with the responsibility of policing and patrolling highways with special emphasis on areas, determined and selected by the superintendent, where high traffic accident rates or special traffic hazards exist.
