52:34-6.4 State required to purchase "Energy Star" products; exceptions. 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of any other law to the contrary, and unless the head of the department, or other public officer charged with the duty by law, shall determine it to be inconsistent with the public interest, or the cost to be unreasonable, the State, with respect to products procured for its own use under any contract paid with or out of State funds, shall acquire only products bearing the federal Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star label.
