52:32-8 Exceptions from specific requirements. 5. In cases of practical difficulty, the enforcing agency may grant exceptions from the specific requirements of the standards and specifications required by P.L.1975, c.220 (C.52:32-4 et seq.) or permit the use of other methods or materials, but only when it is clearly evident that equivalent facilitation and protection for persons with physical disabilities are thereby secured.
