Defacing, injuring, destroying or removing monuments; penalty

52:29-4. Defacing, injuring, destroying or removing monuments; penalty Any person who defaces, injures, destroys or removes a State boundary monument shall be liable to a penalty of $250.00 which shall be collected and enforced in a summary proceeding by the department in the name of the State in a court of competent jurisdiction in accordance with the procedure prescribed in the Penalty Enforcement Law (N.J.S. 2A:58) and the rules of the Supreme Court applicable thereto and all sums so collected shall be paid into the State treasury. L.1954, c. 32, s. 3.
