52:27D-43.17a Definitions relative to domestic violence. 1. As used in this act: "Board" means the Domestic Violence Fatality and Near Fatality Review Board established pursuant to P.L.2003, c.225 (C.52:27D-43.17a et seq.). "Domestic violence-related fatality" or "fatality" means a death which arises as a result of one or more acts of domestic violence as defined in section 3 of P.L.1991, c.261 (C.2C:25-19). "Near fatality" means a case in which a victim of domestic violence is in serious or critical condition, as certified by a physician. "Panel" means the Panel to Study Domestic Violence in the Law Enforcement Community established pursuant to section 9 of P.L.2003, c.225 (C.52:27D-43.17i).
