Director of division of local finance; appointment; salary; duties

52:27D-19. Director of division of local finance; appointment; salary; duties The Division of Local Finance shall be under the immediate supervision of a director, who shall be a person qualified by training and experience to direct the work of such division. The director shall be appointed by the commissioner and shall serve at the pleasure of the commissioner and until the director's successor is appointed and has qualified. He shall receive such salary as shall be provided by law. The director shall administer the work of such division under the direction and supervision of the commissioner, and shall perform such other functions of the department as the commissioner may prescribe. The person in office as director of the Division of Local Government in the Department of the Treasury on the effective date of this act shall hold the office of Director of the Division of Local Finance in the Department of Community Affairs established hereunder for the period of his term as director of the Division of Local Government in the Department of the Treasury which remains unexpired on the effective date of this act, and until his successor is appointed and has qualified.
