52:27B-41. Secretary of State to notify banks of termination of power of State Treasurer and commissioner The Secretary of State shall, when the offices of State Treasurer and commissioner or either of them shall become vacant or the officers or either of them shall no longer be authorized to act as such, respectively, give written notice forthwith to all national banks located in this State and institutions authorized by the State to carry on a banking business of such vacancy or termination of power. No bank shall thereafter pay any check or draft of the State Treasurer, signed or countersigned by any person after his office shall become vacant or after he shall no longer be authorized to act.
