52:27-6. Secretary, auditor and other assistants; limitation on expenses For the purpose of enabling the commission to carry out this chapter it may appoint a secretary and counsel, employ an auditor and such other assistants, legal, clerical or otherwise, and fix their duties, terms of service and compensation, and incur such other expenses as it may deem necessary, but no expenses (other than expenses directly attributable to the municipality, such as costs of issuing notes or bonds of the municipality and the costs of audit) shall be incurred exceeding ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) in any one municipal fiscal year for any one municipality without the approval of a judge of the Superior Court.
