State Treasurer

52:18A-2. State Treasurer The administrator and head of the department shall be the State Treasurer, who shall be a person qualified by training and experience to perform the duties of his office, and who shall be appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate. The State Treasurer shall serve at the pleasure of the Governor during the Governor's term of office and until the appointment and qualification of the State Treasurer's successor. He shall receive such salary as shall be provided by law. The person in office as State Treasurer on the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight, shall hold the office of State Treasurer in the Department of the Treasury established hereunder for the period of his term which remains unexpired on the effective date of this act and until his successor has been appointed and has qualified. The State Treasurer shall transfer to the Health Care Subsidy Fund established pursuant to section 8 of P.L.1992, c.160 (C.26:2H-18.58), revenues generated from third party liability recoveries by the State for the purposes provided in section 4 of P.L.1996, c.29 (C.26:2H-18.58a).
