"Safe Neighborhoods Services Fund," created

52:17B-163. "Safe Neighborhoods Services Fund," created 5. a. There is created in the Department of the Treasury a nonlapsing fund entitled the "Safe Neighborhoods Services Fund." The fund shall be the depository for the assessments collected pursuant to section 11 of this act, for any State appropriations, federal grants received pursuant to subsection c. of this section, or other moneys provided to carry out the purposes of this act and for the interest earned on these deposits. The fund shall be administered by the State Treasurer. b. Of the moneys deposited in the fund, 75% shall be available for approved law enforcement projects and 25% shall be available for the purchase of law enforcement equipment. c. Notwithstanding the provisions of any law to the contrary, any federal funding received by the State, or for which the State is currently eligible or becomes eligible, for purposes within the purview of this act shall be deposited into the fund. d. In no event shall moneys deposited in the fund be used to defray the cost of administering this act, except as provided in subsection e. of section 10 of this act. L.1993,c.220,s.5.
