51:1-65. County and municipal superintendents; custodians of standards; annual inspections of weights and measures Each county or municipal superintendent shall procure, at the expense of said county or municipality, a set of legal standards, properly certified by the state superintendent, and the necessary testing and sealing apparatus. He shall take charge of said standards and of all copies thereof and of all testing and sealing apparatus and shall take all precautions necessary for their safe-keeping and for their maintenance in good order. He shall cause an inspection of the weights and measures used in trade within his jurisdiction to be made at least once in each year. The state superintendent and his assistant superintendents shall direct and assist the county and municipal superintendents in making inspections.
