51:1-54.2. Weighing and measuring devices; registration; fees 6. a. All weighing and measuring devices located within the State and operated or used for commercial purposes shall be registered with the State superintendent, except for timing devices used in clothes dryers by the residents of a building in which the clothes dryers are located. b. An applicant for registration shall submit an application on a form provided by the State superintendent and pay the appropriate registration and inspection fee established pursuant to section 7 of P.L.1994, c.60 (C.51:1-54.3) to the State superintendent. c. A weighing and measuring device registration shall expire one year from the effective date of the registration. d. A registration may be renewed annually for an additional one-year term upon submission of a properly completed renewal application on a form provided by the State superintendent and payment of the registration fee established pursuant to section 7 of P.L.1994, c.60 (C.51:1-54.3). e. A registration seal shall be issued by the State superintendent for each weighing and measuring device registered in the State and shall be affixed to the instrument or device. f. Notification shall be provided to the State superintendent if a weighing and measuring device, located within this State, is sold, transferred or moved to a new location.
