Majority of votes determines whether act operative

5:8-46. Majority of votes determines whether act operative If at any election at which such question is submitted as provided in this act the majority of all the votes cast, both for and against such question, shall be cast in favor of the question, the provisions of this act shall become operative in such municipality but if a majority of all such votes shall be cast against the question, the provisions of this act shall not become operative in such municipality unless the same shall be again submitted and this act shall be adopted as provided in this act.
