5:5-72. Exceptions; premiums or prizes by fair or agricultural society; harness racing or trotting of horses Nothing contained in this act shall prohibit any fair or agricultural society now organized under any law of this State from offering premiums or awarding prizes as heretofore nor the harness racing or trotting of horses for a premium or a prize when the pari-mutuel system of wagering or, any other wagering, pool making or betting is not permitted or conducted thereat; provided, however, no horse racing shall be permitted on any track of this State for any purpose whatsoever between the last day of November in any year and the first day of April of the succeeding year.
