Enactment of requirements by municipalities; application for exemption from state standards

5:3-52. Enactment of requirements by municipalities; application for exemption from state standards Nothing contained in this act shall prevent municipalities from enacting requirements more restrictive than those provided for by, or adopted pursuant to the provisions of this act. Any municipality desiring to impose more restrictive requirements shall make a written application for exemption from any State standards adopted hereunder to the department which shall act upon said application in accordance with the procedures set forth in section 18 of this act.
