5:12-156 Compensation of public members; reimbursement. 8. Each appointed and voting public member of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority other than the chairman shall receive compensation of $18,000.00 per annum. The compensation of the chairman shall be $23,000.00 per annum. The casino industry representatives shall not be deemed to be public members and shall not receive this compensation. All members shall be reimbursed for actual expenses necessarily incurred in the discharge of their duties. Notwithstanding the provisions of any other law, no officer or employee of the State shall be deemed to have forfeited or shall forfeit his office or employment, or any benefits or emoluments thereof by reason of his acceptance of the office of an ex officio or appointed member of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority or his services therein. Upon enactment of P.L.2011, c.18 (C.5:12-218 et al.), any member of the authority, reappointed upon expiration of the member's initial term, shall be eligible to receive compensation pursuant to this section; provided, however, that any such member shall not, upon reappointment, be eligible to receive any benefit or compensation in the form of health benefits or pension credits for service with the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority. The Attorney General and the State Treasurer, and, where appropriate, the Commissioner of the Department of Commerce and Economic Development or the Commissioner of the Department of Community Affairs, may designate an officer or employee of their respective departments and the Casino Control Commission member or members on the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority may designate another commissioner or employee of the commission to represent them at meetings of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, and each designee may lawfully vote and otherwise act on behalf of the member for whom he constitutes the designee. Any designation shall be in writing delivered to the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority and shall continue in effect until revoked or amended by writing delivered to the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.
