48:12-74. Furnishing annual program to municipalities and public utilities; changes at own expense Whenever the work in the annual program involves changes in rails, pipes or lines owned by a municipality or public utility, the State Highway Department shall furnish the program to the municipality or public utility. Thereupon the municipality or public utility shall cooperate with the State Highway Department and the railroad companies. The municipality or public utility shall, at its own expense, change its rails, pipes and lines to conform to the plan adopted by the State Highway Department; provided, that if funds are granted or allotted by the United States Government or any of its agencies, the State Highway Department, with the consent and approval of the Governor, may allot and credit any or all of the funds so received toward the expenses to be borne by the municipality and the public utility or public utilities, the property or properties of which are required to be changed.
