46:30B-4 Effect of chapter on duty of holder to report, pay and deliver property under prior law. 46:30B-4. Effect of chapter on duty of holder to report, pay and deliver property under prior law. This chapter does not relieve a holder of a duty that arose before the effective date of this chapter to report, pay, or deliver property. A holder who did not comply with the law in effect before the effective date of this chapter is subject to the applicable enforcement and penalty provisions that then existed and they are continued in effect for the purpose of this section, subject to R.S.46:30B-89; however, after the effective date of this chapter, the interest and penalties set forth in article 34 of this chapter shall be assessed against the holder for failure to report, pay or deliver the property presumed abandoned in accordance with the prior statutory provisions.
