45:9-19.14. Unlicensed practitioner not permitted to purchase, dispense, prescribe controlled substances A physician or podiatrist whose federal or State privilege to purchase, dispense or prescribe controlled substances has been revoked, suspended or otherwise limited shall not be permitted to administer controlled substances in a health care facility licensed pursuant to P.L.1971, c.136 (C.26:2H-1 et seq.) or a health maintenance organization operating pursuant to P.L.1973, c.337 (C.26:2J-1 et seq.), unless the administration has been approved by the State Board of Medical Examiners. The board may condition its approval on the physician's or podiatrist's participation in a licensed health care practitioner treatment program recognized by the board. L.1989, c.300, s.16.
