45:7-47. License required. 16. No person shall engage in the practice of mortuary science or mortuary and embalming science unless he shall have been duly licensed so to do, by the board, under the provisions of P.L.1952, c.340, (C.45:7-32 et seq.) or under the provisions of any prior law of this State and unless such license is unrevoked and in full force and effect; provided, that this shall not apply to a registered intern working under the direct supervision of a practitioner of mortuary science or of mortuary and embalming science. No person licensed as a practitioner of mortuary science shall engage in the practice of embalming. L.1952, c. 340, p. 1103, s. 16; amended 2025, c.52, s.7.
