45:5B-10.1 Licensed school of cosmetology and hairstyling, distance learning. 1. A licensed school of cosmetology and hairstyling may administer courses with theory-related subject matter to registered students through distance learning technology. A course that involves instruction using practical demonstration shall only be provided in-person. For the purposes of this section, distance learning means those courses taught by a licensed school of cosmetology and hairstyling to a registered student who is at a location separate and apart from the school.
