45:14-49 Licensure required for pharmacist. 10. a. Except as otherwise provided in this act, it shall be unlawful for any individual to engage in the practice of pharmacy unless currently licensed to practice under the provisions of this act. b. The provisions of this act shall not apply to the sale of any drug by a manufacturer or wholesaler or pharmacy to each other or to a physician, dentist, veterinarian or other person licensed to prescribe such drugs in their professional practice. c. Practitioners authorized under the laws of this State to compound drugs and to dispense drugs directly to their patients in the practice of their respective professions shall meet the standards established by their respective licensing boards with respect to storage, handling, security, counseling, labeling, packing and record keeping requirements for the dispensing of drugs, or if no such standards exist, the same storage, handling, security, counseling, labeling, packaging and record keeping requirements for the dispensing of drugs applicable to pharmacists.
