45:12-26. Titles not authorized Nothing contained in this chapter shall confer upon any person practicing optometry the right to add, affix, or attach to his name the title, designation, character or letters of M.D., surgeon, doctor, unless qualified by the word optometrist, ophthalmologist, or to indicate in any way that he is engaged in the treatment of injuries of the human eye, or to use any therapeutic measures or agencies other than those included in the practice of optometry as defined in section 45:12-1 of this chapter for the treatment of the human eye, unless he is authorized to do so by the board, body or persons empowered by law to award such right or title.
