"Midwifery" defined

45:10-1. "Midwifery" defined A person shall be regarded as practicing midwifery within the meaning of this chapter who attends a woman in childbirth as a midwife, or advertises as such, by signs, printed cards or otherwise, but nothing in this chapter shall be construed to prohibit gratuitous service in case of emergency, nor the service of any legally qualified physician or surgeon of this state.
