44:7-82. Funds by state for medical assistance for the aged The State shall provide such funds as may be necessary to meet expenditures for medical assistance for the aged. The State shall also pay to each appropriate county welfare board the reasonable costs, if any, incurred by such county welfare board when acting at the direction and on behalf of the Department of Institutions and Agencies in investigating and determining whether applicants for medical assistance for the aged are eligible therefor under standards prescribed by the Department.
