Powers of county welfare boards; funds provided by freeholders

44:7-8. Powers of county welfare boards; funds provided by freeholders The county welfare boards shall receive and act upon applications for assistance under and in accordance with this chapter, and do all other acts and things necessary in connection with the same for the purpose of administering and carrying out the provisions of this chapter. Funds for the administration of this chapter, and the payment of old age assistance granted thereunder, shall be provided by the board of chosen freeholders of each and every county and by the state in the manner hereinafter provided.
