44:5-7. Annual appropriation by city during existence of contract Upon the execution of a contract by a city as provided in sections 44:5-4 and 44:5-6 of this title, the proper municipal authorities of the city shall annually during the existence of the contract appropriate and raise by taxation in the manner in which other city taxes are assessed, levied and collected in the city, a sum equal to one-third of a mill on every dollar of assessable property returned by the assessor of the city, which sum when so appropriated shall be paid to the treasurer of the board of trustees, governors or directors of the hospital named in the contract.
