Penalty for failure to keep book

44:4-56. Penalty for failure to keep book For the wrongful neglect or refusal to keep the book according to the requirements of section 44:4-55 of this title, for the willful alteration of any entry in it, or for its willful mutilation or destruction, the person in charge shall be liable to a penalty of twenty-five dollars, to be recovered for the use of the county in an action at law in any court of competent jurisdiction, together with the costs of suit, by the welfare board controlling the institution.
