Burial of poor

44:4-118. Burial of poor When a person shall die in a county without leaving money or other means sufficient to defray his funeral expenses, the director of welfare under the direction of the county welfare board shall employ some person to provide for and superintend the burial of the deceased person and contract with a cemetery association to provide a place for the burial, and the necessary and reasonable expenses as fixed by the governing body chargeable with the expense shall be paid by it upon the order of the county welfare board.
