Permanent relief in absence of almshouse or welfare-house

44:1-89. Permanent relief in absence of almshouse or welfare-house The overseer in any municipality in which there is no almshouse may provide for the permanent relief and support of poor persons as in his discretion the circumstances may require, or contract, with the approval of his governing body, for the support of such persons in the almshouse of another municipality of the same county, if there shall not be a county almshouse or county or district welfare-house.
