44:1-71. Keeping of book with certain entries as to each inmate The supervisors or superintendent and person in charge of every institution for the poor shall keep a book, to be provided by the authority charged with the care of the institution, in which book he shall enter from time to time the name, date of the commitment, age, sex, color, description, physical and mental condition, education, habits, occupations, condition of ancestors and family relations, cause of dependence, birthplace and date of discharge, or of death and place of burial of every person coming into the care of such institution, and such other records as may be prescribed by the state board of health and the bureau of vital statistics, together with any other information about them which may be ascertained, and the book shall be open to the inspection of the public at all times.
