44:1-116. Procedure where temporary relief required and settlement is outside of state Where temporary relief is required by a poor person in a municipality or county in which he is a resident and inhabitant, and it is ascertained that his place of settlement is outside this state, the overseer shall provide relief and immediately make such application, with the aid of the county adjuster, as may be necessary and otherwise lawful for his removal. A record thereof shall be filed with the commissioner and his aid obtained for such purpose when necessary, which aid the commissioner shall give forthwith.
