43:11A-4. Dependents, rights to benefits Any benefit which would have been payable under an applicable New Jersey pension act to the dependents of a former municipal employee upon his decease if he had continued in his municipal employment shall be paid, if he dies while in Port Authority employment, in the same amount, from the same source and in the same manner as if he had so continued; provided, that if such dependents shall receive an annual payment from the New York Retirement System, then they shall receive the amount of such benefits payable under the applicable New Jersey pension act, less the amount of such annual payment from the New York Retirement System.
