40A:9-98. Sheriff not to perform duties of office before giving bond and taking oath; misdemeanor If a sheriff elect shall perform any of the duties of his office before giving bond or taking the oath of office as provided by law, he shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. L.1971, c. 200, s. 1, eff. July 1, 1971.
