Register of deeds and mortgages is the county recording officer

40A:9-90. Register of deeds and mortgages is the county recording officer In counties having a register of deeds and mortgages the said register shall be the recording officer of the county as fully as the county clerk is the recording officer in counties not having a register of deeds and mortgages.
