Term of office of register of deeds and mortgages

40A:9-83. Term of office of register of deeds and mortgages The register of deeds and mortgages shall be elected by the legal voters of the county for a term of 5 years. He shall be commissioned by the Governor and his commission shall be issued and bear date on January 1 next following his election, or if such date falls upon a Sunday, then on the following day.
