Contracts for lesser salaries, wages or compensation

40A:9-10.1. Contracts for lesser salaries, wages or compensation The board of chosen freeholders of any county or the governing body of any municipality may enter into a contract with any officer or employee of the county or municipality, as the case may be, to perform the duties of his office, position or employment at a lesser salary, wage or compensation than otherwise fixed and when the contract shall be entered into, it shall control the amount of such salary.
