Legislative Purpose

40A:26A-2. Legislative Purpose The Legislature finds and declares it to be in the public interest and to be the policy of this State to foster and promote the public health by providing for the collection and treatment of sewerage through adequate sewerage facilities. It is the purpose of this act to implement this policy by authorizing municipalities and counties either separately or in combination with other municipalities and counties to finance, acquire, construct, maintain, operate or improve works for the collection, treatment, transport and disposal of sewage and to provide for the financing of these facilities.
