Payment in lieu of taxes

40A:12A-40. Payment in lieu of taxes 40. In connection with any housing project located wholly or partly within the area in which it is authorized to act, a public body may agree with a housing authority, redevelopment agency, redevelopment entity or the federal government that a certain sum, in no event to exceed the amount equal to 10% of the amount received by that authority, agency, entity or government in the form of shelter rents, or that no sum, shall be paid by that authority, agency, entity or government in lieu of taxes for any year or period of years.
