40:68-46. Budget; adoption The district commissioners shall adopt a budget for the district which budget shall be prepared and adopted in accordance with the Local Budget Law, chapter 4 of Title 40A of the New Jersey Statutes. Upon adoption of the budget the clerk of the district shall transmit a certified copy of its budget to the municipal assessor of the municipality in which the district is situate, who shall assess the money required to be raised in the budget upon the taxable properties in the district in the same manner as municipal taxes are assessed and the said money shall be assessed, levied and collected at the same time and in the same manner as other municipal taxes.
