Defective nominating petitions

40:62-105.12. Defective nominating petitions If any petition requesting that the name of the person so indorsed be printed upon the official ballot shall be found to be defective, the clerk of the board of water commissioners shall forthwith notify the candidate so indorsed, setting forth the nature of such defect and the date when the ballots will be printed, and the candidate indorsed on such defective petition shall be permitted to amend such petition either in form or substance so as to remedy such defect, at any time prior to the date set for the printing of such ballots.
