40:5-2.1. General conflagration; appropriations to relieve loss from Whenever a general conflagration shall have taken place in any county, and in one or more municipalities thereof, such county shall be and is hereby authorized to appropriate, raise and expend a sum of money, not exceeding twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00), to relieve the loss, damage, distress and suffering caused by said general conflagration.
