40:37-248. Petition for submission When in any county there has or shall have been submitted to the voters thereof at any election, the question of the establishment of a county park system or county park commission under the provisions of any law, and the question shall have failed of adoption as provided by the law under the terms of which the same was submitted, no proposition for the establishment of a county park system or county park commission shall thereafter be submitted to the voters of that county unless and until there shall have been filed with the board of chosen freeholders of that county, at least sixty days prior to the next following general election, a petition signed by at least two per cent of the persons who were qualified to vote at the last preceding general election.
