40:37-202.1. Referendum to determine hours or salaries of county park police Whenever there shall be submitted to the board of chosen freeholders of any county having park police appointed pursuant to the provisions of subdivision E of article five of chapter thirty-seven of Title 40 of the Revised Statutes, a petition signed by three per centum (3%) of the legal voters of the county requesting that there shall be submitted to the legal voters of the county the question of fixing the hours of duty or the salary or salaries of any officer or officers or of the members of any park police, according to the hours or the amount or amounts stated in the petition, the board of chosen freeholders shall cause the question or questions to be submitted to the legal voters of the county at the next general election therein occurring more than forty-five days after the receipt of the petition by the governing body.
