40:20-13. Nonpartisan poll book; ballots numbered There shall be provided for the use of the boards of registry and election an additional book, to be known as the "nonpartisan book" , and a record shall be kept therein of each voter who votes in the nonpartisan box, with the number of the ballot cast by him, and in the different primary books there shall be kept a record of the voters voting in the primary boxes, with a record of the numbers of their ballots. The numbers on the ballots shall be placed in the same place as the numbers on the primary ballots, and shall be torn off in the same manner as they are required to be torn from the primary ballots.
