4:24-1.1. Prevention of damage by floodwater or sediment; conservation of water for agricultural purposes The purposes of soil conservation and the control and prevention of soil erosion to be furthered by the State Soil Conservation Committee and of the soil conservation districts shall include, wherever applicable, the prevention of damage to soil and soil resources by floodwater or by sediment and the furtherance of conservation of water for agricultural purposes.
