4:22-50.2. Appointment; notice, hearing The court may appoint a responsible person as a receiver upon a finding that the appointment is in the best interests of the animals at the pound or shelter. A court shall not appoint a receiver without a hearing except upon a finding that immediate and irreparable harm to the animals may result. The owner shall be given notice of the hearing in a manner designated by the court. After receipt of this notice the owner shall be granted an opportunity to contest the imposition of the receivership at the hearing. L. 1986, c. 89, s. 2, eff. Aug. 14, 1986.
