Security for appearance where defendant nonresident or desires continuance

4:22-33. Security for appearance where defendant nonresident or desires continuance Where a defendant is a nonresident of the county in which the alleged offense was committed, or where a defendant desires an adjournment or continuance of the hearing, the court before whom the complaint has been made may, in its discretion, require the defendant to furnish security in an amount not exceeding two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) for his appearance at the hearing. Amended by L.1953, c. 5, p. 51, s. 70.
